Dr. Colin Ackerman is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of hand, wrist, and elbow injuries and conditions. He is dedicated to helping patients restore mobility, function, and quality of life through personalized, evidence-based care.

Originally from the Northeast, Dr. Ackerman graduated with highest distinction from Penn State University’s Schreyer Honors College. He went on to receive his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society for his academic excellence and leadership.

During medical school, Dr. Ackerman participated in multiple research projects with The Rothman Institute, presenting his work at both regional and national conferences. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. Following residency, Dr. Ackerman pursued advanced fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery at the renowned Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.

A former athlete himself, Dr. Ackerman developed his passion for orthopedics through a lifelong appreciation for movement, performance, and the importance of maintaining functional extremities. His practice philosophy centers on patient-centered care, emphasizing a holistic, individualized approach to diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Outside of medicine, Dr. Ackerman enjoys hiking, traveling, skiing, photography, and spending quality time with his wife and family.
