Ryan P. Hammond, MD is a fellowship-trained primary care sports medicine physician originally from Sevierville, TN. He obtained his BS in Biochemistry from the University of Tennessee, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He then obtained his MBA from the University of Tennessee Haslam College of Business. After this, he found his way to Memphis, TN to attend medical school at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. Upon completion of medical school, he completed a general surgery internship at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville prior to completing his family medicine residency at Tristar Southern Hills in Nashville. He completed his sports medicine fellowship here at Campbell Clinic, logging enough ultrasound-guided procedures to surpass 4x the national average in fellowship.
Dr. Hammond takes care of general orthopedic patients, sports injuries and concussion, and has a special interest in ultrasound guided procedures. He also employs the use of different orthobiologics such as PRP in his practice as well as the use of extracorporeal shockwave therapy. His ultimate goal is to get his patients back to the activities they love.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Hammond loves taking care of our local athletes. You can find him on the sidelines of University of Memphis and ECS games as well as involvement with several other local schools.
In his spare time, Dr. Hammond enjoys water sports, snow sports, fitness, and the great outdoors. He and his wife Carleigh, a Memphis native, are incredibly excited to be at Campbell Clinic and in the Memphis community.
